Dear Friends & Supporters:
Greetings and Happy New Year! We hope this message finds you and your family in good health and good spirits. The last two years have been incredibly difficult with the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the globe. Life as we knew it changed in the early months of 2020 and has not been the same since. Loved ones have been lost, livelihoods disrupted and for children around the world the days of consistent learning in person is turning into a memory.
In Uganda, the majority of the youngest children have not seen the inside of a classroom for nearly two years due to country wide shutdowns. And while parents and guardians have struggled to find ways to keep their children learning, 2021 saw families struggle with more basic survival needs.
But there is a lot to be hopeful about. In 2021 NAF rose to the occasion to meet the needs of our students by providing much needed food and school materials to twelve families in July. Students also received good news that schools will finally be re-opening nationwide in Uganda on January 10th.
As NAF works hard to prepare students for their return to school, we need your support now more than ever. Please consider making a tax-deductible cash or in-kind donation by January 31. No donation is too small and all will go towards ensuring that NAF continues to improve the lives of young people in Uganda. For questions on how to make an in-kind donation, please contact us at info@norahanenafoundation.org.
We thank you for your continued support and wish you a healthy, peaceful and successful 2022.
Sincerely yours,
Chioma Azi, Esq.
