Welcome to the Norah Anena Foundation!
The Norah Anena Foundation (NAF) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to uplifting Northern Ugandan peoples through education, cultural restoration and economic development.
To honor the life’s work of Northern Ugandan native and former refugee Norah Anena, her daughter Chioma Azi founded NAF in 2015. Inspired by the Acoli proverb “Arwot ki oda” which means I am a chief in my own house, Arwot ki oda was adopted as the NAF motto, which reflects the strength, independence and power of Northern Ugandans despite the years of war and suffering in the region over the last 40 years.
The NAF believes that the key to the future success of Northern Uganda lies in Northern Ugandans themselves. The NAF therefore is inspired and motivated by Northern Ugandans and seeks to restore Northern Uganda and its people to greatness.
