Happy New Year from NAF

Dear Friends & Supporters:

Greetings and Happy New Year! We hope this message finds you and your family in good health and good spirits. As it has been over the last five years, times remain tough for many of our students and their families as well as for ordinary Ugandans at large. Hyper inflation and untenable costs of living that rose in 2022 did not abate in 2024. And sadly, education has not been immune from high prices. In 2024 we saw cases of institutions raising tuition prices mid year and with little to no notice. Some institutions also added new “requirements” fees not initially included in information pamphlets. One of the results of these new fees involved schools turning students away for outstanding balances valuing less than $30 US dollars, even when tuition was paid in full.

Nevertheless, NAF is proud to have continued its support of vulnerable children, adding three new students to its roster in 2024. We look forward to expanding our support as some of our long term students look to wrap up studies in tertiary level programs, particularly nursing.

We also acknowledge 2025 as a special year as it marks the tenth anniversary of NAF’s founding. We look forward to marking this special occasion all year long with our students, their families and supporters.

As you consider worthy causes and organizations to support, please consider making a tax-deductible cash or in-kind donation to NAF. As a small, volunteer driven organization, we depend on the support of others to do what we do. No donation is too small and all will go towards ensuring that NAF continues to improve the lives of young people in Uganda. For questions on how to make an in-kind donation, please contact us at info@norahanenafoundation.org.

We thank you for your continued support and wish you a healthy, peaceful and successful 2025.

Sincerely yours,

Chioma Azi, Esq.
